Gifhorn Innovation & Service GmbH builds a bridge between science and business

Jul 5, 2025

The Landkreis Gifhorn Innovation & Service GmbH, together with the Technical University of Braunschweig, is pleased to announce the approval of funding for the InnoREG project. The goal of this initiative is to sustainably strengthen knowledge and technology transfer between universities, research institutions, and businesses in the South-East Lower Saxony region, thereby significantly enhancing the region’s economic innovation potential. InnoREG was initiated by TU Braunschweig and is being implemented in close cooperation with project partners: the City of Braunschweig, WIS Salzgitter GmbH, Landkreis Gifhorn Innovation & Service GmbH, and Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences. As part of the project, targeted transfer initiatives will be developed to transform scientific findings into innovative products, processes, and services — with a special focus on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Companies will benefit from tailored matchmaking with suitable research partners, expert guidance in project planning, and support in identifying appropriate funding opportunities.

“A strong innovation ecosystem emerges where economic development, municipal institutions, and scientific organizations work closely together — this collaborative network lays the foundation for lasting technological and economic momentum in the region,” says Katharina Hoffmann, Interim Managing Director of Landkreis Gifhorn Innovation & Service GmbH. “In the Gifhorn district, there are many dedicated people with ideas, drive, and the determination to move our region forward. Now is the time to turn thought into action.” The *InnoREG* project sets the course for future-oriented collaboration in the region. Its aim is to sustainably strengthen the exchange between science and industry. Through close partnerships and combined expertise, economic challenges can be thoroughly analyzed, innovative solutions developed, and implemented together in concrete projects.
